Quick Tip Is Your Janome 350e Foot Broken?
Quick Tip About Janome 350e
If you own a Janome 350e Memory Craft you know it uses a plastic embroidery “P” foot. I don’t know about you but I am breaking my foot once or twice a year. To replace this “P” foot cost me $20-30 every time it breaks.
Did you know?
A year ago Janome released a new embroidery only machine called Janome Memory Craft 500e. It’s an upgrade from the Memory Craft 350e. One of the upgrades is that it uses a metal “P” foot. It just so happens that it fits the Janome 350e. Strangely enough, it is cheaper to buy than the plastic one and it last longer. I paid under $10 for a metal one. I also noticed there is a slight improvement with my stitches. The metal foot holds the fabric down better than the plastic foot.
My sewing vendor suggested using it in place of the plastic one. He proved it to me by putting one on a used 350e machine in the store.
My Quick tip for the day.
If you have a 350e save your money and order a metal embroidery “P” foot for the 500e next time it breaks from your sewing vendor. Take it home and use it on your 350e. I’ve had mine on both my machines for 6 months now and I’ve had no problems.
Update 8/18/2018: I’ve been using my metal “P” foot for over a year now and haven’t had any problems with it. I’ve noticed less nesting and jams with this foot. I also like that it has a smaller hole then the plastic one.
