How to Make Taco Seasoning

How to Make Taco Seasoning
How to Make Taco Seasoning with no preservatives or added fillers.
For a long time, when I was growing up, my mom would buy taco seasoning in the little packets from the grocery store. After I grew up I would buy the same taco seasoning from the store. It was a case of, you do what you know.
After I started growing my own herbs I realized I was paying upwards of $3.00 for a packet of seasoning that I was growing on my windowsill. Taco seasoning was easy to make and I could make this myself. I started by checking the packet to see what was in it. I couldn’t believe it! There were a lot of preservatives and fillers that I really didn’t need to be eating inside such a little package. Then, I sat down and made a list of all the herbs and spices from the ingredient list. After that, I started testing different amounts of herbs to see if I could get something close to what was in the packet. What I came up with is the recipe below.
The recipe doesn’t have fillers or preservatives, plus it tastes much better using fresher herbs. The other thing that I noticed is, the packet doesn’t say when the seasoning was actually made or how old the herbs were when they packed it.
