Embroidered Cow Design

The embroidered cow is one of the first designs I learned to digitize. Digitizing is a form of software that you use to create a machine embroidery.  It is similar to painting with thread, only on the computer screen. I love this cow. It is a jersey. Made it with 3 thread colors. Black, White, and flesh pink color. I was inspired to draw this cow from a piece of clipart I came across at work. I thought she was really cute.

Jersey Cow Design

I created this embroidered cow for one of my nieces. She loves cows! Jersey cows, plain cows, brown cow, any kind of cow. They are MOO-varlous to her! I wanted to give her something special for Christmas a couple of years ago. I made her some hand towels with this cow. She loved it!

Pillow-Quill

Cow Pillow Quill

Last Christmas we made her a pillow-quill. Yep! You guessed it, we embroidered the cow. She loves green so the cow was right at home in a green field background. It looked like the cow is standing in the grass.

A pillow-quill has a large pocket that makes the pillow. The pocket is sewn to the bottom of the throw blanket. Folding the blanket throw and stuffing it into the pocket makes the stuffing for the pillow. It keeps the throws up and out of the way when company comes to visit or during the cold seasons when you don’t need a throw. I love to put my feet in the pillow pocket piece when using it as a throw. It keeps my feet warm. I don’t have to push and tuck the edges under my feet and legs. Instead of having a throw on the back of the couch, keep things tidy by leaving the pillow in the corner of the sofa.

You can only find it here on Etsy

My niece loved the little cow we made her.
